Aisha Buhari honours female soldiers, charges them to be role models

The First Lady Mrs Aisha Muhammadu Buhari has honoured female participants at the 2019 Democracy Day parade, and urged them to inspire young ones by being their role models.
The event was held at the Banquet Hall of State House in Abuja Sunday night.“You have also endeared many young ladies and even men to join the military service and contribute in the protection of our dear nation,” she said.


She said the central role of women in the society has ensured the stability, progress and long term development of nations.
“That is why I am quick to appreciate women who have excelled in their different areas of specialisation,” she said. 

She commended the Nigeria Armed Forces and the Nigeria Police Force for always showcasing the nation in good light through their local and international missions.


She specially commended the Guards Brigade for spending many hours of training to come out with a world-class performance at the Democracy Day parade.
Also speaking, Secretary to the Government of the Federation Mr Boss Mustafa, who was the chairman of the Inauguration Planning Committee, appreciated Mrs Aisha Buhari for hosting the ladies for their exemplary performance. 

He said their performance was demonstrative of the sense of loyalty with which the armed forces defends the constitution, the President and the territorial integrity of the country.
