Ake Arts and Book Festival moves online

The management of the popular Ake Arts and Book Festival has announced that the  2020 edition of the festival is going to be held online.

 Themed “Black Magic,” the festival was scheduled to be held in  Lagos from 22 to 25 October.

The change is however in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and the social-distancing protocols it necessitates.

This development was announced on Twitter via the festival’s verified handle.

The Aké Arts and Book Festival is an annual literary, cultural and arts event that was founded in 2013 by a  writer, Lola Shoneyin.

Although it has features new and established writers from across the world, its focus has been to promote, develop and celebrate creativity on the African continent in diverse genres.

The Festival has been described as the African continent’s biggest annual gathering of literary writers, editors, critics and readers
