Operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ondo state Command, said it has arrested a 48-year-old welder, Mr Onifade Femi on account of sexual defilement of his 6 and 9-year-old daughters respectively in Akure, Ondo state capital.

The state commandant of the NSCDC, Mr Philip Ayuba, said this in a statement issued Sunday in Akure.

In the statement signed by the command’s spokesman, Mr Olufemi Omole, the NSCDC boss said  the command, based on intelligence gathering by officers and men, the anti-human trafficking and illegal migration unit of the command, swung into action and arrested the suspect, who lives at No 27 Liberty Hospital Road, Oluwatuyi, Akure.

He said the arrest was however made easy through the effort of His Imperial Majesty, Oba Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Aladelusi, Odundun II; the Deji of Akure Kingdom who handed over the suspect as he had earlier escaped to the palace.

“During interrogations, the suspect, Onifade Femi, initially denied the allegations but we later gathered that there has been a long term disagreement between the man and his wife as a result of constant molestations and maltreatment in the home.

“Onifade Femi always seize the opportunity of his wife’s absence to harass the minors sexually. It was further revealed that few days ago the  suspect, Onifade Femi, bought a bottle of soft drink, mixed a powdery substance, suspected to be drug, with it and gave the kids to drink.

“Onifade Femi went further to caress the kids and suck their private parts. The neighbours reflected on hearing the wailing of the children throughout the night after sending out their mother,” Ayuba said.

According to him, medical examination from Federal Medical Centre Annex in Akure, however revealed that both girls lost their virginity and their private part deeply opened.

The NSCDC boss, who said that the suspect would be charged to court for justice to take its course, also stated that the state government had shown interest in the case and the welfare of the children fully guaranteed.

The state commandant reassured the public of safety and adequate protection of lives and property as the command was poised to eradicate all forms of criminal tendencies and social vices in the state.
