Al-Makura distributes generating sets to monarchs, others

The senator representing Nasarawa South senatorial district of Nasarawa state, UmaruTanko Al-Makura, Sunday, said he had empowered 120 second and third class chiefs in the zone with power generators in order to improve services at their respective domains.

He disclosed this at the third tranche of distribution of his empowerment tools in Lafia, the Nasarawa state capital.

Al-Makura who is the immediate past governor of Nasarawa state said as part of his achievements in nine months, he empowered 210 vulnerable, 120 second and third class traditional rulers, including those that got scholarships in various ways.

“My kind of scholarship is different in the sense that I am always trying to concentrate on supporting people with disabilities.  last week I donated 3.5 million worth of special books for special school “.

He maintained that his achievements so far were evident of what the zone stands to gain by electing him as senator, even as he promised to continue to provide the people of his constituency with qualitative representation.

“I will continue to sponsor bills that will benefit my constituents, strengthen democracy and add value to governance.”

He explained that the intervention was in partnership with the Border Communities Development Agency aimed at creating conducive atmosphere for traditional rulers to operate, considering the role they played in security and peaceful coexistence for societal development.Al-Makura called on the people of the state to continue to support President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Abdullahi Sule for them to succeed in the tasks ahead.
