Al-Makura mulls agency for youth empowerment

Governor Umaru Al-Makura of Nasarawa state has submitted the Nasarawa State Agency for Youth Empowerment Scheme (NAYES) bill to the state Assembly in a move to give the youths a bright future.
Speaker of the House, Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi, announced this yesterday in Lafia during the House proceeding, yesterday.
According to the Speaker, the move by Al-Makura was to reduce the rate of youth unemployment and restiveness as well as to make them to self reliant in order to enable them contribute their quota to the development of the state and country at large.
Abdullahi assured the people of the state that the Assembly would continue to partner with the executive in any bill that would have direct impact on the lives of its citizenry.
The speaker assured the governor of the passage of the bill while soliciting for the support of the people to enable the two arms of government succeed.
Blueprint recalls that over 4,500 youths in the state had been engaged by the Al-makura led- administration with a monthly stipend of N10, 000.
The youths were engaged as sanitary inspectors, community watchers, traffic marshals and environment guards among others
