Alasoadura decries state of Egba housing scheme

Minister of state, Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Omotayo Alasoadura, has decried the deplorable state of the housing scheme, in Egba off Upper Sakponba Road, Benin City, Edo state.

He noted that the project, built to a level of commissioning, however, has been vandalised due to its location and lack of security and the social amenities.

The minister who was speaking at the Edo state Government House, Benin City, during a courtesy visit to the state governor, Godwin Obaseki, noted that bushes have overtaken almost all the housing projects.

He urged the state government to allocate areas close to the people to avoid wastage adding that “human beings are like ants who want to live together and it will take ages before people move here.”

In his response, Governor Obaseki assured him of the state government’s support with a promise to look into some of the ministry’s project, bring it back to live and get the units occupied.
