ALGON chairman scores minister high

Chairman of Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), FCT chapter, Hon. Micah yohanna Jiba, has expressed vote of confidence in the Minister of the territory, Sen. Bala Muhammed, over what he described as “direct delivery” of the transformation agenda of President Goodluck Jonathan to residents.

Jiba, who said this during an interactive section with newsmen, said since the inception of the nation’s capital, the original inhabitants and residents had never had “a minister like the present minister who prefers an open door policy and carries his subjects along.”
He noted that the traffic gridlock that had been a menace in places like Kubwa, Lugbe and popular AY Junction axis had suddenly “become a thing of the past.”

He said: “I want to let you know that as a student of Tudun Wada Secondary School, then I can tell you authoritatively that there was nothing like this as at that time; places like Bigger junction, Wuse Market, Gwagwalada axis were no-go areas because of traffic congestion and area boys, but now through the working ability of this present government, one can move about those areas freely and peacefully.
“Another area we must applaud this minister and his minister of state is on the Rail project that is ongoing, it will ease transportation challenges and boast economic power of FCT and neighbouring states.”

He called on traditional and religious leaders to properly educate their subjects on the completed and ongoing projects and programmes of government in the territory, adding that with more enlightenment residents would have a positive perception of their leaders.
