Ali Kwara Inspector-General of Police (IGP) anti-robbery squad has intercepted a gang of robbers, killed one and seized a Toyota Jeep in Jigawa state.
Addressing reporters yesterday in Dutse, the leader of the IGP anti-robbery squad, Alhaji Ali Kwara, paraded a corpse of the slain robber to newsmen, saying that he was alerted by his informants about the arrival of the gang of armed robbers to Jigawa state.
He added that the robbers were from Lagos state where they snatched a Toyota land Cruiser Jeep with registration number FE 380 LND belonging to one Mrs Vera Ohwojakpor.
Kwara explained that after the incident in Lagos, they ran to Abuja and stayed there for three months before advancing to Jigawa state for robbery where they planned to snatch many executive cars.
He said when they finally got themselves into the state, he stormed their hideout with his team and that during the operation, the anti-robbery squad succeeded in killing one of them while the remaining two escaped into a nearby bush.
He said after the operation, they recovered three guns and the Toyota Land Cruiser Jeep.
