Aliero donates N100m poverty reduction items to constituents

The senator representing Kebbi Central, Muhammadu Adamu Aliero has distributed items estimated at N100 million to members of the constituency aimed at alleviating their challenges and improving their economy.
The occasion which took place at Aliero’s residence located at the GRA in Birnin Kebbi, was attended by the state governor, Senator Atiku Abubakar Bagudu, his deputy, Alhaji Samaila Yombe Dabai, top government functionaries and politicians.
Speaking at the distribution ceremony, Aliero disclosed that the items include 500 grinding, 500 sewing machines, 300 water pumping machines, 250 motorcycles and 8 brand new cars to each APC chairman in his constituency.
He disclosed that the gesture was to improve the living standard of men and women of the constituency and assured that it would be a continuous process.
“I have so far provided a number of boreholes, 3 classroom blocks in each local government and plans are underway to construct 25 additional classroom blocks in collaboration with the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBE),” he said.
Aliero further said that in addition to that, 3,000 women in the constituency would benefit from financial assistance of N10,000 each to engage themselves in petty trading activities.
In his remarks, governor Atiku Abubakar Bagudu applauded the performance of the senator and enjoined other elected officials to follow suite, while calling on the beneficiaries to judiciously utilise the items given to them.
He advised that the wife of the senator, Hajiya Maimuna Adamu Aliero should be the overseer of the distribution of the items in order to ensure fairness and justice in the distribution.
