All set for Lagos King’s cup

Preparations have reached advance stages for the inaugural edition of Lagos Super “8” King’s Cup to be competed among top grassroots teams in Lagos State.

Speaking with journalists after the trophy presentation to owners of clubs expected to participate in the tournament, Friday in Lagos, Seyi Jones, a FIFA/ NFF registered football intermediary and brain behind the tournament, disclosed that the Lagos Super 8 King’s Cup is a marketing strategy for participating teams to make in roads into the European and world football market.

” The Super 8 King’s Cup is the first major football programme in Lagos State since the Covid-19 pandemic. And it is not results oriented, but a purely marketing programme. And we expect top notch scouts and sporting directors from top European clubs,” Jones explained.

According to Jones who doubles as CEO of Sportacus Global Agency and brain behind the competition, Legacy pitch, National Stadium, Lagos is the venue for the of the tourney slated to hold 10-13th March, 2021.

The eight teams have been pooled into two groups, with Dino Sporting Club, G-12 FC, Broad City FC and 36 Lion FC, battling for bragging rights in group A, while group B features FC Bethel International, Smart City FC, Box2Box FC and Obazz FC.

 The scouting tournament is powered by 36 Lion Investment Ltd and with Broad Zone MGT Ltd as partners, in conjunction with Diamond Sports Management, one of Europe’s topmost football agency.
