All set for Tuesday’s Amotekun support walk in SW states – YWC

All is now set for the Tuesday walk in support of operation Amotekun in all the capitals of the six South west states of Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Osun, Ekiti and Ondo states.

A  statement  Monday  by the director of contacts and mobilisation, Yoruba World Congress (YWC), Comrade Victor Taiwo, the solidarity walk  organised by the  congress , an umbrella body of all Yoruba socio-cultural and self determination groups within and outside Nigeria is expected to be led by the Yoruba leader , Professor Banji Akintoye and others across the South west states.

Comrade Victor in the statement listed names of the state coordinators for Amotekun solidarity walk scheduled to start by 9am for the six south west states.

The statement said Chief Jimoh Olawale Taofeek is to chairman the walk at Ogun state holding at Pansheke junction, Abeokuta to be supported by Otunba Shade Olukoya and Princess Tanimowo Okusanya, while Pastor Praise Ayodele is to chairman that of Ekiti state holding at Fajuyi roundabout, Ado Ekiti, to be supported by Comrade Sunday Asefon and Comrade Femi Oluwajuyitan.

In Oyo state , the solidarity walk is to be chairman by Evangelist Kunle Adesokan , to be supported by  Comrade Victor Taiwo and Princess Oyeronke Akinlolu holding opposite Agodi Cenotaph, Government House, Ibadan, Lagos state walk will be coordinated by Arc. George Akinola as chairman to be jointly supported by

Chief Solagbade Popoola and   Comrade Olatunde Pedro, Comrade  Dotun Hassan at the Faweyinwimi Freedom Park, Ojota.

Others are for Osun state,  Dr Akin Adejuwon will be the Chairman to be supported by Comrade Adekanola Desmond at the Nelson Mandela Freedom Park, Osogbo, and at the Democracy park, Akure in Ondo state support walk. Mr Tola Ogunlalaka, as chairman with  Comrade Oluyi Tayo Alariwo and  Comrade Eric Oluwole supporting.

The statement stressed that “well-meaning Yoruba people and leaders of thought would be at designated venues to address the protest.  We want to assure our governors that Yoruba people are behind them on Amotekun. We urge them not to shiver and they must never shiver. It is no retreat, no surrender. We will not surrender Amotekun.”
