Alleged fraud: Judge, SAN to file no-case submission

Justice Ofili Ajumogobia of the Federal High Court and Chief Godwin Obla (SAN) have both hinted that they would file a no-case submission in their trial before Justice Oshodi of the Lagos state High Court.
The counsel to the second defendant (Justice Ajumogobia), Chief I.
A.
Adedipe (SAN), informed the court that having analysed the failure of the prosecution to establish a prima facie case against the second defendant, he would, on behalf of the second defendant, file a no-case submission within seven days.
While Chief Obla’s lawyer, Mr.
Mobolaji Kuti, also indicated his client “intends to file a no-case submission within 14 days.” It would be recalled that trial in the matter commenced with the arraignment of both defendants on a 30-count information on November 28, 2016.
Blueprint gathered that in the period between the arraignment and the closure of the prosecution’s case, the prosecution had applied to the court for adjournments on at least five occasions, ostensibly to call more witnesses.
The court adjourned the suit till November 2, 2018, for the defence to file their no-case submission.
