Alleged robbery, kidnapping: Police parade gov’s aide, other suspects


Nasarawa state police command has arrested 67 suspected criminals including Special Adviser to the governor of Nasarawa state on Infrastructure, Yusuf Abubakar Musa, popularity known as Yusuf Mada.
Commissioner of Police, CP Bola Longe, stated this while parading the suspects at the command headquarters in Lafia, the state capital on Thursday


He said the suspects who were apprehended at different locations across the state committed different offences such as arm robbery, vandalism, kidnapping, illegal possession of fire arms among others.

“Consequently, the state police command have developed a strategic anti- vandalism template to arrest the tide of the unwholesome scenario”. Bola Longe said.
“Furthermore, extensive investigation into the case led to the arrest of 11 additional suspects including Special Adviser to the governor of Nasarawa state on Infrastructure, Yusuf Abubakar Musa A.K.A Yusuf Mada and one foreign Chanese national Mr Marra Thai, Sgt.Mali Peter attached to the state Criminal Investigation department Lafia,and Ibrahim Amegwa,a personnel of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps attached to arm squad NSCDC ‘s command headquarters Lafia,” he said.


He said the suspects are being investigated after which they would be taken to court.
He therefore, said the command will not shield anyone no matter the status, including its own personnel caught perpetrating any criminal act antithetical to his/her constitutional calling from facing the wrath of the law.

He further appealed to members of the public to continue to avail them with credible information that will assist in the provision of impervious security for the law abiding citizenry in the state.
“Any credible information relayed to us will be diligently work on and also treated with utmost confidentially,” he assured.
