Allow your children engage in sports at young age, Omo-Agege tells parents

The Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, has congratulated Nigeria’s 13-year-old promising champion, Ugo Ugochukwu, on winning the FIA European Carting Championship.

In congratulating the young champion, Senator Omo-Agege urged parents to allow their children engage in sporting activities at young age, noting that it paid off for Ugochukwu being the first Nigerian to get such honour in motorsport at a very young age.

Omo-Agege, in a congratulatory message Friday in Abuja, also felicitated with Ugochukwu for signing a long term contract with Formula 1 team McLaren after his win in the FIA European Carting Championship.

“We are pleased with your development thus far as we look forward to more wins in the near future. We also congratulate you on your new signing by Formula 1 team, McLaren after your win in the FIA European carting championship.

“We also call on all Nigerians to encourage their children in sports participation as the case of Ugo Ugochukwu indicates that with sports, a better and prosperous future can be attained by the country.

“Once again congratulations on your mile stone achievement as we believe you have paved the way for other young Nigerians to follow,” he stated.
