AMAC chair opens up on trip to Germany 

The Chairman of Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Hon. Christopher Zakka Maikalangu, Thursday, returned to the nation’s capital, Abuja, after a one-week economic and diplomatic trip to Germany.

On his arrival at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, Maikalangu said he held useful deliberations and interfaced with big wigs of international business investors for International Development, DFID and projection of AMAC as a potential business hub for both local and international investors to harness, especially in area of agriculture.

He assured that his discussions with the international investors would yield desired results for the Council, in line with his campaign promises to look beyond the shores of the communities of the 12 wards of AMAC in the task of rebuilding the the Council.

He said the need to tackle the enormous challenges confronting the council  made it necessary and imperative to seek collaboration with partners to support the efforts of his administration to rebuild a new AMAC Agenda.

“It was an economic and diplomatic visit to Germany, where we had cause to interface with the international business moguls and it was in order. we also visited so many investors and investment opportunities and we had useful deliberations,” he said. 

He said that the Council was in need of resources and collaboration to enable his administration create jobs, developed the communities and wealth for its teeming youths and for the citizens.

Maikalangu also assured that there was hope for the council because the renewed faith and confidence in his administration by the international community who is happy with the progress made so far by his administration.

“We are making progress. We’ve made useful contacts and engaged in deliberations we believe will yield positive results in the shortest possible time.

“The good news is that they are confident and they are happy with our progress thus far. There is faith and confidence in the government of our councils today,” he said.

Maikalangu who commended the FCT Minister of state Dr Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu for playing a motherly and leadership role by providing international opportunities for the area councils in FCT to thrive. 

He further expressed optimism that his administration would deliver the goods to better lot of the citizens.
