AMAC donates uniforms, books to Kunyai school

As part of eff orts to make education attractive to children in the rural areas, the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) has donated school uniforms and exercise books to pupils of Kunyai Primary School in Gui ward of the Council. Presenting the uniforms to the Principal of the school, the AMAC chairman, Hon. Abdullahi Adamu Candido, said he would dedicate his remaining tenure to ensure that education in AMAC is perfect. Candido promised that his administration would build additional three classrooms and headmaster’s offi ce for Kunyami village. According to him, every child in AMAC would be encouraged to be in school and adequately educated to read and write. He further commended the people of Kunyai for their eff orts in encouraging their children to be educated by building a classroom for them, calling on other communities to emulate such gesture.

In his remarks, the Village Head of Kunyami, Chief Silas Agwi, applauded the AMAC chairman for promoting education in the community, and called on him to assist them with more classrooms as their children always got their lessons under mango trees, as well as health centre. Speaking, in the same vein, the headmaster of Kunyami LGEA, Mr. Elesami Adekule, said his dreams that one day the pupils would cease to sit on mats to learn had been realised. A resident, Mr. Obiora Osija, also thanked the chairman for remembering the community in his development plans.
