Amnesty program seeks army’s support to achieve success

The Coordinator Presidential Amnesty Programme, Prof. Charles Dokubu, has sought for collaboration with the Nigerian Army to ensure success of the programme.

Dokubu made the appeal Wednesday when he paid a courtesy visit on the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Burstai, at the Army Headquarters, Abuja.

He said the Nigerian Army has played a critical role in securing critical national assets and ensuring peace, security and stability that has enhanced development in the Niger Delta region.

The Coordinator therefore solicited for more cooperation, partnership and collaboration with the Army to ensure a lasting peace in the region.

In his response, the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai, who was represented by Chief of Policy and Plans Army Lt. Gen. Lamidi Adeosun, said the Nigerian Army “prides itself in doing everything possible to secure all parts of Nigeria.”

He assured the Coordinator of the Nigerian Army’s continues support to ensure success of the programme.
