Anambra 2021: ADC to rake N132 million from sale of forms as party pegs price at N12million per contestant


At least 11 persons have indicated interest to contest for the Anambra State November 6 governorship poll under the platform of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
The National Chairman of the party, Chief Okey Nwosu, who disclosed this in a media chat in Awka on Tuesday, explained that ADC was strategically positioned to clinch victory on the poll.


According to Nwosu, some of the gubernatorial aspirants gunning for the party ticket are Afamefune Ezenwafor, Chief Godson Okoye, Dr Ejike Onuogu and Rev. Surface Ifeanaejere.
He said the party’s nomination form is sold for N10 million while the expression of interest form is pegged at N2 million, totaling N12 million. 


At the end, the party is expected to pocket up to N132 million.
The price of each ADC gubernatorial form is different from other parties.
Up to N22.5 million is being pegged for the same form by the All Progressive Congress (APC), N26 million for the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), and N22 million for All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA).


Nwosu, who assured that the party’s primary would be transparent, credible, free and fair, stated that ADC has zero tolerance for any kind of inducement to delegates, adding that any aspirant or moneybag caught in the act during the party’s primary would be prosecuted, even as the aspirant been supported would be automatically disqualified.


He urged Anambra state electorate to support ADC on the fortcoming poll as they were positioned to produce a governor most qualified to reposition all facets of the state.
