Anambra 2021: Ex-Transcorp boss vows to consolidate on Obi, Obiano achievements

As the Anambra state 2021 gubernatorial poll draws closer, the former President and Chief Executive Officer of Transnational Corporation of Nigeria plc, Mr Valentine Ozigbo, has said he was ready to consolidate on the achievements of the previous administrations if voted into power as governor.

Ozigbo, a governorship aspirant under the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), in a virtual media parley with some journalists, expressed confidence that he might emerge the consensus candidate of the PDP to further defeat other political parties’ candidates in the main election due to his goodwill, experiences and outstanding achievements.

“I will consolidate on the achievements of former governor Peter Obi. He is the best governor Anambra state has ever produced. I will also improve on any good project initiated by Governor Willie Obiano’s administration. I can’t rule out the fact that there are some aspects of his administration that are commendable. I have the goodwill of our people at heart,” he added.
Ozigbo, while dismissing the allegations that he was being sponsored by some top political godfathers in the state, said he rather maintains good relationship with all stakeholders and people, adding that if given opportunity, Anambra state would experience good turn around in all sectors especially in the area of Health and Education.

“I have the wherewithal to prosecute the 2021 governorship race and win. But we won’t be extravagant. Some have linked me with Mr Peter Obi, others with Chief Chris Uba, Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu and a host of others . That shows  I’m  popular across the board,” he stated.
On zoning of the governorship seat to Anambra South Geopolitical zone which his party was kicking against, he adviced PDP to have a rethink, but maintained that he was more qualified in all ramifications giving that he hails from Aguata LGA, one of the Council Areas in the senatorial district.
