Anambra 2021: Guber aspirant tasks PDP on transparent primary

A People’s Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain and gubernatorial hopeful in Anambra state 2021 poll, Mr Godwin Ezeemo, has advocated a transparent primary, which according to him would guarantee the party victory at the election.

Ezeemo, while donating 15,300 membership cards to the state secretariat of the party in Awka, on Thursday, said he was optimistic that Anambra voters would elect a candidate of PDP once the party ‘gets it right.’

According to him, “Power belongs to God but we are hopeful of winning the 2021 election in Anambra state and the major thing is for us to get it right during our primaries. Party is a family, I didn’t buy the cards because I’m aspiring for any position, it’s my own little way of  helping our members  Other people can equally donate, I’m a party man, I did same when I was in ACN too.
“What the aspirants need from the party during the primaries is transparency which the chairman has already assured us. I’m working with my team in making sure the ticket comes to me. The power belongs to the people and they are the ones to decide. What makes me better than others is that I’m not a diaspora aspirant, rather a local man who has deared himself to the grassroots.”

Receiving the cards, the Anambra state Chairman of PDP, Sir Ndubuisi Nwobu, reassured the party’s stand on organising a free and fair governorship primary and urged other members of the party to emulate Ezeemo’s kind gesture of giving a face lift to the party.
