Anambra 2021: Refrain from campaign of calumny, PDP urges aspirants

As campaign for Anambra state 2021 governorship poll intensifies, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), has urged gubernatorial hopeful under it’s platform to refrain from campaign of calumny and other electoral offences.

Anambra state Chairman of the PDP, Chief Ndubuisi Nwobu, gave the charge while receiving an aspirant, Chief Ugochukwu Okeke, who was at the party’s secretariat in Awka, to officially inform the executive of his intention to grab the party ticket.
Nwobu, who maintained that campaign of calumny was undemocratic, sued for peace and harmonious relationship with all aspirants, so as to enable the eventual flag bearer of PDP easily defeat other political party candidates.

He said moneybags would be disappointed at the outcome of the party primary, assuring all the aspirants that the PDP was positioned to organise credible, free and fair primary.
“I am still assuring you that the primary election is going to be free and fair. You have the list of statutory delegates. You know our party members. Take your campaign to them. They are those to present you with the party ticket. The power belong to them not to any individual. It is not for the rich. We need unity to go into the election. So, don not engage into any form of campaign of calumny. If anyone engage you in campaign of calumny, don’t respond to him too,” the State PDP boss added.

Earlier, the governorship aspirant, Chief Ugochukwu Okeke, appreciated the party officials, noting that he was ready to accept the outcome of the PDP governorship primary, as well as to support the winner to come out successfully at the poll.
