Anambra: APC inaugurates fact-finding committee on 2019 election outcome

The All Progressives Congress (APC), Anambra State chapter, on Saturday, inaugurated a 13-member fact-finding committee to look into its performance on the just concluded general elections in the state.

The party, neither retained its seat at the Senate Anambra South currently occupied by Senator Andy Ubah, nor secured even a seat in the state legislative election despite that it having leaders like Chris Ngige, and others.

The committee which has Barr CJ Chinwuba as Chairman,  IyKe Ibeh Deputy Chairman; Secretary Dr Peter Ogbuka; Hon. Jessy Baleonwu member, among other persons, was expected to conclude its findings and report to the party in 14 days.

Inaugurating the committee, Hon. Basil Ejidike, the party’s State Acting Chairman, said the committee among other things were charged to freely invite any member of Anambra State APC including the contestants at the 2019 poll for any information or clarification.

He said: “There is need for us to keep on accessing and re-assessing ourselves; know if we get it right or wrong and how to improve and perform excellently  in subsequent elections.”

Speaking on behalf of others, the Deputy Chairman of the Committee, Chief Iyke Ibeh, thanked the party for finding them worthy of belonging to the committee, noting that they would discharge their duty and come out with positive results within the 14 days framework given to them.
