Anambra asses skills acquisition centres

Anambra state government has commenced the assessment of all the skill acquisition centres in the 21 local government areas of the state with a view to equipping them properly.
Special Adviser to the state governor on Youth Empowerment and Mobilisation, Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim, disclosed this to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Awka.
Ibezim said the assessment was to get firsthand information about the facilities and equip the centres for immediate training of youths interested in skill acquisition, adding that the exercise was aimed at empowering and guiding the youths in the state towards self-reliance.
He said that the Willy Obiano-led administration was completely committed to improving the living standards of the people, especially youths, who had shown interest in their economic and financial advancement.
Ibezim charged the youths to endeavour to acquire skills to boost their daily income for sustainable livelihood. He also enjoined them to shun social vices and acts capable of ruining their future.
He further tasked residents of the state to always protect government’s facilities in their various areas against vandals to ensure their sustainability.
