Anambra: Corpse of man declared missing found in forest

 
Anambra state police command, Thursday, said they have recovered a corpse of one Mr Enoch Nwosu, from a forest in Amichi, Nnewi South Local Government Area (LGA).
Nwosu, who hails from the same community had left home on July 4, 2020 but never returned home having been allegedly robbed and killed by some suspects currently in the police net.


The command’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mr Haruna Muhammed, said the suspects, Mr Emmanuel Nwafor, aged 23 years and Mr Chukwuebuka Obi, aged 21years, also robbed the deceased of his Lexus Jeep and other valuables.
According to Muhammed, the suspects were arrested by police detectives from Ichi Division following actionable intelligence after which the scene of crime was visited to recover the corpse. 
“Suspects had on the 5/7/2020 allegedly robbed and killed one Enoch Nwosu ‘m’ aged about 45 years of Enugwu-Aja village Ichi who left his house since Saturday 4/7/2020 with his Lexus 330 Jeep with Reg No.ZBL 38RL.


“Scene of crime was visited by Police detectives while the body was recovered at Amichi forest and deposited at the mortuary after it was certified dead by a medical doctor. Consequently, the robbed Lexus Jeep and other valuables were also recovered from the suspects in Asaba and registered as exhibits,” he added.
He said the case was currently under investigation after which the Suspects and their ‘fleeing accomplices’ would be brought to book.
