Anambra governorship: ADP fields candidate, promises to rebuild Nigeria

One of the newly registered political parties, Action Democratic Party (ADP) has said that it is coming to the political terrain with the chemistry to bring about the new Nigeria.

The party’s Deputy National Chairman Alhaji Najeem Awodele, revealed this Thursday in Abuja, during the presentation of Nomination and Expression of Interest forms to Chief Ifeanyi  Okonkwo, who is seeking to fly the flag of the party at the forthcoming Anambra governorship election.

Awodele, who is a former Minister of state Agriculture, also said his party was making a history in the sence that the essence of political party which is to contest election and struggle for power has just started.

“ADP is an alternative party because of the failure of PDP and APC. We will rebuild and bring about new Nigeria. We have the Chemistry.

“Today we are presenting the forms of Expression of Interest and Nomination to one of us who is going to contest the next governorship election in Anambra state. He is not going there to add up the number but to contest the election and win.

“We are presenting a household name to slug it out because we know his onions and he himself is ready for the election.

Awodele described Chief Mike Okonkwo as a household name in Anambra, saying “the electorates are running away from moneybags. Our party is a party of system.

“Nobody will go for moneybags but people with principle and inherent discipline. Since they have been bagging the money, we have not seen the difference. And I know that the effect of moneybags will be very minimal because an alternative that will bring about new Nigeria has come.”

Responding, the aspirant, Chief Mike Okonkwo, said “by God’s permission, it is your candidate versus others. ADP is a political machine that will rebuild Nigeria. We are looking for women and men, not money. We will fight corruption and bring social justice to the country.”
