“Intending participants are to register at www.anambrayouths.ng before it closing date which is on January 15, 2020. We shall consider mostly Anambra youths between 18 to 35 year old who are creative.

“It is going to be transparent. The programme was designed in line with governor Willie Obiano’s resolve to get our youths off the street and make them employers of labour. There are different packages available for applicants to enroll for like one youth one skill, smart job programme and others.

“There are areas applicants are required to fill their business ideas. At the end of the training about 100 to 150 people would be selected based on already established criteria, certified, empowered and mentored to practicalise the skills.

“At the end of the programme, up to 100 participants with the best business plan would be selected and funded up to the tune of N5m which is to be disbursed in tranches upon satisfactory execution of the agreed business implementation plan.”

Contributing, Prof. A.U Nnonyelu, the Director, Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK) Business School, hailed governor Obiano for the initiative, adding that it would help to address unemployment which according to him was a major challenge facing the country.

“At Unizik business school, we help youths to discover and develop their skills and occupation. We are happy that the government apart developing and sponsoring this programme is going to give financial support to those selected to help them start the business because paucity of funds affect business a lot,” he stated.
