Anambra: How Snakes go after specialists at govt-owned Hospital – Lawmaker



The 7th Assembly of Anambra State legislative House Tuesday, kick-started its first official plenary with member representing Njikoka I state constituency, Hon. Timothy Ifedioranma, raising an alarm that snakes pursue specialists and doctors working at Enugwu-Ukwu General Hospital, which serves its constituent.


Ifedioranma, who made the disclosure in a matter of urgent public importance while supporting a motion for adjournment, lamented that the General Hospital has turned into a glorified chemist.
According to him, the deplorable condition of Enugwu-Ukwu general hospital was worrisome being the major government health institution in the LGA and its environs. 


He called on the Anambra State Ministry of Health through its Commissioner to urgently come to their aid by not only renovating the edifice but also providing them with needed equipment. 
Blueprint reports that the 30 member House of Assembly comprising 24 APGA and 6 PDP members, which was inaugurated last week Wednesday, also witnessed speeches from all the members most of whom urged the state executive to kindly mobilise contractors to site as roads to their various constituencies were turning into a deathtrap.


Speaking also, the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Uche Okafor, while thanking his colleagues for decorum and maturity played out at their inauguration last week, assured that he would carry everyone along despite political or religious affiliations.
