In the spirit of the season, the member representing Awka South II constituency in Anambra state House of Assembly, Dr Godwin Okafor, on Tuesday, distributed empowerment materials to over 1000 of his constituents.
Okafor, while distributing the items which included sewing machines, dryers, desktop computers, shoe-making machines, bags of rice, others, said it was aimed at engaging them to become job creators.
The majority leader, who said the empowerment programme was third in its series and that beneficiaries were selected from various political parties, assured those yet to benefit to wait for another time.
The Speaker, Anambra State House of Assembly, Hon. Uchenna Okafor, who witnessed the event, described the kind gesture as a clear evidence of quality representation and urged his constituents to rally round him. Earlier, the National Chairman of All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), Chief Victor Oye, lauded the benefactor, noting that elected officers under his party were performing excellently.
