Anambra: Man lures, defiles teenager in wife’s shop


The Anambra State police command said they have arrested a 33-year-old man from Elugwu Mkporo in Ohofia Local Government Area (LGA) of Abia state, Ejike Kanu, for allegedly defiling a seven-year-old daughter of his neighbour.
The Anambra state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mr Haruna Muhammed, who disclosed this in a statement, said Kanu was arrested by police detectives attached to Okpoko division.


According to him, the suspect allegedly perpetrated the act inside his wife’s shop at Umuobom street Okpoko, Anambra state.
“The Police detectives at Okpoko division had visited the scene and took the victim to the hospital for a medical examination where penetration was confirmed by the medical doctor.
“The suspect has voluntarily confessed and attributes his act to the devil’s influence.

Case would be transferred to the State criminal investigation department for discreet investigation as directed by the Commissioner of Police after which the suspect will be charged to court for prosecution,” he said.
