Anambra: NYCN acquires computer sets, to train, empower youth on ICT

The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Anambra State Chapter, Wednesday, said it was ready to train and empower youth across the State on different fields of Information and Communication Technology (ICT).

The State Chairman of NYCN, Surveyor Emeka Obi, who disclosed this in Awka, the State capital, explained that the initiative was geared towards empowering youth at the grassroots who wished to acquire ICT knowledge but were deprived for various reasons.

Obi, who said he has donated a total of twenty desktop computer sets for the programme to kick-off immediately, added that the computer would be unveiled by NYCN on 19th of August, 2022.

“It is my delight to inform you that we are ready to commence our ICT drive with the unveiling of the 20 sets of desktop computers which I donated to the Council. The computers and their components have been procured and we have also inaugurated the Directorate of ICT to champion this cause,” he noted.

He, however, noted that the Council was facing a logistics challenge and appealed to spirited individuals, groups, corporate agencies, philanthropists and politicians to assist them in procure a new bus and in maintaining their other faulty vehicle.
