Anambra: Shake-up as Obiano reshuffles cabinet


Anambra state governor, Chief Willie Obiano, Thursday, announced some changes in his cabinet with the state Commissioner for Culture, Diaspora and Indigenous Artworks, Mrs Sally Mbanefo, shifted to head Solid Minerals and Tertiary Education. 
Mrs Mbanefo, a former Director-General of National Tourism Development Cooperation, would be replaced in her previous assignment by Dr Christian Madubuko, formerly the commissioner for Transport.


The governor equally redeployed Professor Theresa Obiekezie, formerly the Commissioner for Tertiary Education to man the Ministry of Youth Entrepreneurship and Creative Economy, whose occupant, Mr. Afam Mbanefo, was moved to the Ministry of Transport.


Confirming the cabinet reshuffle, the state Commissioner of Information and Public Enlightenment, Mr C. Don Adinuba, said other ministries were not affected, adding that the new changes were in line with the governor’s determination to reposition Anambra state.
Blueprint reports that aside Mrs Obiekezie and Mrs Mbanefo, who joined the cabinet in 2018, the due of Mr Mbanefo and Mr Madubukor, first served the current administration as commissioners in charge of Agriculture, and Trade and Commerce before being posted to their immediate past ministries respectively.
