Anambra youth hold summit, hit Soludo over anti-Obi’s comments

The youth leader of Labour Party in Anambra State, Hon Ekene Nnadi, weekend, lampooned Governor Chukwuma Chukwuma Soludo over his recent comments on the Presidential candidate of the party, Mr Peter Obi.

Soludo had at different fora, said among other things, that possibilities of Obi’s victory on 2023 general elections was impossible considering some statistics he propounded.

But Nnadi, while addressing newsmen after State Labour Party youth summit held at Awka, described Obi as the best candidate on the poll, adding that Soludo’s comment did not portray him as an educated intelligent man voted to govern Anambra State.

“There’s a difference between being educated and Intelligent. Governor Soludo is educated but not Intelligent. We Igbo are republican people. We voted for President Olusegun Obasanjo and Umar Musa Yara’dua. Peter Obi is not an igbo project. Obi is the most qualified amongst the presidential candidates for the election, both psychologically, mentally and physically.

“This is why Afanifere based on equity and fairness, agreed that they will support Obi. What Nigeria needs is someone that is competent. Someone that will change the condition of this nation and that person is Peter Obi. On behalf of Labour Party Youth in Anambra state, we Condemn totally the attack on Peter Obi by our governor, Soludo. We are solidly behind Obi,” he stated.

Meanwhile, during the summit, stakeholders of Labour Party, including its Senatorial candidate for Anambra Central, Senator Victor Umeh; the party’s National Organising Secretary, Chief Clement Ojukwu; the State party’s Chairman, Chief Ugochukwu Emeh; and others charged youth to mobilise support for Obi and other candidates of the party across the nooks and crannies of the state.
