ANLCA queries members over call for Dikko’s sack

The Association of Nigerian Licensed Agents (ANLCA) has issued queries to its members that called for the sack of the Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service, Dikko Abdullahi. This was disclosed by the National Publicity Secretary of the association, Kayode Farinto at the emergency National Executive Council meeting of the association held in Lagos yesterday.

It could be recalled that the duo of Kanikwu Davies and Ghanny Adeola who are chapter executives at the Tincan Island and PTML Ports Complexes had last weekend called for Abdullahi’s sack over the creation and operation of multiple Customs task forces at the ports.
They also alleged that the Customs boss had desecrated the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) by using junior officers to monitor the activities of senior officers.

However, Farinto described the call by Davies and Adeola as “their own personal opinion and not the stand of the association”.
Farinto said, “The outburst is tantamount to personal opinion which does not hold water.”
“They have all received their queries and they have been asked to explain the rationale behind the statement.
“We will not tolerate any indiscipline and we have said it times without numbers that no chapter executive is allowed to speak on national issues except the President and the NPS,” he said.
Farinto also announced a partnership between ANLCA and the Maritime Micro Finance Bank, Apapa.
He said the partnership was to help the members of the association access funds for their business.

“We are partnering with the Maritime MFB to see how we can set up a cooperative society for our members to assist them in getting funds for their businesses.
“We won’t be collateral for anyone but we are into partnership to help our members,” he said.
