Anniversary: Rhema empowers Kwara host communities

Rhema chapel international churches yesterday began activities marking its 30th international convention anniversary in Ilorin, the Kwara state capital with delegates from over 100 countries of the world attending.
The one week convention which also coincides with the 60th birthday anniversary of the apostolic overseer of the church, Rev, George Adegboye, has the theme: “Anointed for Impact”.
In line with the theme of the convention, the church has completed the construction of security post to be handed over to the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in the first week of December to boost security of lives and property in Tanke, Ilorin
Also in the area of water intervention for its host communities, the church has sunk four boreholes in Tanke area and completed renovation of the house of the traditional ruler of the area.
Briefing journalists in Ilorin on the activities lined up for the twin anniversary, resident pastor, Rhema chapel Oluyole, Ibadan, Pastor Tunde Mabinuori, said the convention would attract faithful from over 100 countries where Rev Adegboye had preached.
Speaking on the impact of the church on its host community, Mabinuori said “as at today, the church has just completed the building of a security post for the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, Tanke to help in the maintenance of law and order in the community. This will be handed over to the community in the first week of December 2017.
‘‘The church also recently completed the building of a Christian chapel located at F Division of the Nigerian Police Command. This also will be handed over to the community in the first week of December 2017.
‘‘Free all year round Rhema coaching services for students in secondary schools and those at pre-university level by well qualified teachers was started in 2010 and has produced students with excellent results in several tertiary institutions qualifying examinations,’’ he said.
