Another shake-up in Nigerian Army as senior Officers get new postings, appointments


Barely two weeks after redeploying its officers, the Nigerian Army has again released new postings and appointments of some senior officers.

In a statement on Sunday by Army Spokesperson, Col, Sagir Musa, the new posting and appointments were released by army authority on Saturday.

Those affected by the new development, according to him, are: Maj. General HO Otiki who has been posted to 8 Division as General Officer Commanding, Maj. General SO Olabanji – the erstwhile General Officer Commanding 8 Division has been moved to Infantry Corps Centre and appointed as Commander Infantry Corps, Brig. General HI Bature has been posted to Headquarters Training and Doctrine Command as Director Examinations, Brig. General TO Olowomeye is posted to Army Headquarters department of Civil-Military Affairs as director Civil Military Affairs .

Also affected by the new posting are: Brig. General BA Mohammed who has been posted to Martin Luther Agwai International Peace Keeping Centre and appointed Deputy Commandant, Brig. General UM Bello is posted to 63 Brigade and appointed Commander, Brig. General MT Durowaiye has been moved from Directorate of Army Transformation and Innovation to 33 Brigade and appointed Commander.

Others affected by this development are: Brig. General SB Kumapayi who has been posted from Army Headquarters Department of Civil-Military Affairs to Headquarters 14 Brigade as Commander; Brig. General NM Jega has been posted from Headquarters 2 Brigade to 9 Brigade and appointed Commander, Brig. General KO Aligbe has been posted from 16 Brigade to Defence Headquarters and appointed  Director Liaison,  Brig. General AK Ibrahim has been appointed Deputy Director Veteran Affairs Department Retired Officers’ Cell, while Brig. General GTO Ajetunmobi has been posted to 31 Brigade as Commander.

Also affected by the new posting are: Brig. General OG Onubogu who has been posted to Headquarters 16 Brigade and appointed Commander, Brig. General OM Bello has been posted to Headquarters 6 Brigade and appointed Chief of Staff, Brig. General ZL Abubakar is now posted to 32 Brigade and appointed Commander and Brig. General AA Orukotan has been posted to Headquarters Command Army Records and appointed Chief of Staff.
