ANP chairman tasks Nigerians on nation building

The Alliance National Party (ANP) national chairman, Asiwaju Mashood Shittu, has called on the Nigerian populace who devote time and energy to listen to radio and Tv enlightenment and educative Programmes to use such avenues to positively contribute to nation building.

The chairman said they should take advantage of the sensitisation programmes on security,

infrastructural development, healthcare delivery, women empowerment and youth upliftment to improve themselves and the nation.

He said rather than pay attention to destructive programmes focusing on up building programmes would prevent the youth in particular from engaging in acts capable of undermining peaceful co-existence of the diverse tribes in the country.

The chairman said when he received 15-man delegation of the executive of the “Masoyan” Liberty Radio Association who paid him courtesy call in his office in Abuja.

They were there to felicitate with him over the recent Abuja Federal High Court ruling compelling the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to reverse its

earlier decision of deregistering about seventy four Political Parties.

The ANP chairman used the opportunity to implore the federal government to hasten the establishment of a disability ministry in the country to cater for the disabled people.

Shittu advised the association to take advantage of Nirsal’s Anchor Agriculture Loan Scheme through Liaising with reputable mechanized farmers in order to also benefit from agricultural empowerment for self reliance concept geared towards empowering Nigerian youths and women.

In his response, the chairman of the Association, Sa’adu Maimagani, expressed the

satisfaction of the group with the decision of the court that INEC should reverse its ban of some political parties.

He said the decision “is victory for the youths and our nascent democracy.”
