The Ansar-ud-Deen Youth Association of Nigeria (ADYAN) has called on President Muhammadu Buhari not to allow sacred cows in the war against corruption.
The Muslim youth association who threw its weight behind the anti corruption crusade of the President, said the steps taken so far in the fight against corruption is in the right direction.
The association stated this yesterday in a briefing in Minna as part of activities to mark this year’s annual conference of the association taking place in the ancient city of Bida, Niger state on Saturday
Addressing journalists, the chairman, ADYAN northern states council, Dr. Bashir Adeniyi Omipidan, appealed to Nigerians to support the anti corruption war of the present administration.
Dr. Omipidan pointed out that corruption has done a great damage to the collective psyche of Nigerians, adding that the current agitations and threats of secession across the country is as a result of injustices and corruption that have bedeviled the nation over the years.
He said that the President should ensure that there was no sacred cow in the ongoing war against corruption, adding that “whoever is culpable, no matter how highly placed should be brought to book.”
He also called on the President to ensure even distribution of wealth, infrastructures and other developmental projects across the country so that no ethnic group will feel cheated.
