Anti-Oshiomhole Tsunami is self-inflicted- Eze

Former National Publicity Secretary of the defunct new Peoples Democratic Party (nPDP), Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, says All Progressives Congress national chairman, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole’s recent travails in the party is self inflicted. By Godwin Egba writes.

The chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, has warned to the controversial and outgoing chairman of the APC, Comrade Adams Oshiomole, over his claims in his recent outburst, to the effect that the Hon Minister for Transportation, and former Rivers Governor, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, was the brain behind his recent ordeal. Instead, Chief Eze urged Oshiomhole to take a critical self-appraisal because his travails were self-inflicted.

His statement

In a press statement issued in Port Harcourt, the party chief expressed dismay over Oshiomole’s  claims, stressing that Amaechi’s inputs in the APC is enormous so much so that the minister would not be involved in anything that could ruin or weaken the party. He said based on this the minister should therefore be spared in Oshiomole’s outburst.

“It is unfortunate and sad that Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, the outgoing National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), instead of addressing the woes he has brought to APC, and the issues that prompted some members to seek court intervention to oust him from office, is trying to hold at anything to keep afloat, by insinuating that Rt. Hon Dr Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, erstwhile Governor of Rivers State, APC Leader South-South and Minster of Transportation, is behind his unfortunate and current plights, “ Eze said.

He went further: “Worthy of note also is the fact that Amaechi is a member of the National Executive Committee (NEC) of our great part by virtue of the fact that he was an ex-governor. The constitution of the party statutorily confers that on him or any other ex-governor that’s a member of the party and being a humble personality doesn’t in any way allow any of these positions to becloud his sense of reasoning or act of patriotism.”

“Has Amaechi become an exco or a member of Oshiomhole’s political ward in Edo state that suspended him from the party for his anti party activities or is Amaechi listed amongst those that took him to court?”, Eze queried.

Oshiomhole should at where he took his bath

He counselled Oshiomhole to kindly look for his clothes where he took his bath and leave Amaechi out of his self-inflicted political woes and misfortune based on his misguided style of leadership. Further, Chief Eze said: “Amaechi is too busy and constantly preoccupied with official functions and activities for public good and should not be distracted by trivial matters such as this.

“Nigerians should caution Oshiomole to allow the minister concentrate on his mission of transforming and improving the fortunes of Nigerians in the areas related to his mandate in line with vision of the Presidency of Mohammadu Buhari”.

Oshiomhole’s chairman a minus for APC

Judging from the crisis and attendant misfortunes his chairmanship has brought the All Progressives Congress, Adams Oshiomole, ought to know that his stay as the party national chairman is over, notwithstanding the pressure put forth by those promoting and encouraging him in the destruction of a party which he met as formidable, virile, cohesive and vibrant force.

Chief Eze maintained that “Amaechi, Gov Nasir El-Rufai and Gov Kayode Fayemi or any other governor has nothing to do with your current state but the fact remains that for you to preside over a party that lost critical states like Oyo, Zamfara, Rivers, Sokoto, Adamawa, Bauchi, and recently Bayelsa, that were hitherto strong areas of the party, portray you as an unsound leader who can never make the APC win the 2023 general elections. If you truly love the APC as you claim, humbly resign and allow those with better ideas to reposition and rediscover the party before you finally destroy it intoto.

Oshiomhole’s claim on Amaechi’s faction

On Oshiomhole’s claim that he helped in recognising the faction of Amaechi in the assumed crisis of the APC in Rivers state, Eze maintained that if Oshiomhole was sincere and forthright in the affairs of the crisis that bedevilled the party, triggered by agents of the PDP and enemies of the APC in the state by suspending Magnus Abe and his cohorts as was expected, the APC would have been in power in Rivers state and would have saved the state from the sad situation imposed on her by the visionless administration of the PDP in the state.

Eze counselled Oshiomhole to do his best and reconcile with the performing governor of Edo state, Chief Godwin Obaseki, who he once said was the brain behind most of his feats when he was the governor of Edo State.

“To try to cause crisis in Edo state by trying to impose the former PDP gubernatorial candidate, Pastor Ize-Iyamu, as the APC candidate for the 2020 gubernatorial election, is an idea dead on arrival, unacceptable, a miscarriage of justice and wickedness of the highest level in leadership”. Eze asserted.

He recalled that Oshiomhole once described Pastor Iyamu as unfit to be governor of a state like Edo; and to turn around to encourage such a character to fly the flag of the APC is asking for too much.

Oshiomhole should accept court ruling on his suspension

Eze pleads with Oshiomhole to respect the court’s ruling on his suspension and work with Chief Victor Giadom who at the moment is the highest elected officer of the party to see how far he can help in restoring the integrity of the party. Oshiomhole should stop stop making unwarranted appointments which he knows that with his suspension he lacks powers to announce any appointment within the party at the moment.

In this regard, Eze pleads with President Muhammadu Buhari, who, he said, is the ultimate leader of the party, to intervene and prevail on Oshiomhole to take the honourable path and save the party from an impending doom, if he is allowed to continue with his misguided journey of destruction.
