Anxiety as Joshua, Wilder fight draws near

Eddie Hearn is poised to send over a new offer to Deontay Wilder to fight Anthony Joshua.

After months of both boxers calling each other out after their respective fights and on social media, the prospect of a unification fight seems the closest it’s ever been.

Wilder’s manager Shelly Finkel says AJ’s promoter Hearn has told them he has worked out a deal, and will send it over for consideration.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Finkel said: “We’re ready and waiting.
“He’s [Eddie Hearn] coming back to us with an offer and we’re waiting for it today.

“The fact is – we want the fight. Deontay has sent out a personal letter to the public and [says] to Joshua ‘I’m ready to fight. I’m ready to fight you at a 60-40.’

“‘I’m ready to fight you in the UK. My team, you asked to meet with yours – they’re ready. Just let us know when and there is nothing on our side as an impediment.’

“He ended it with: ‘I can’t wait to meet you in the ring,’ that’s what we want.
“It’s the only thing we’re pursuing. That’s the only thing to do.”

Finkel helped put the Joshua vs Wladimir Klitschko fight together and says the fight between Joshua and Wilder will be bigger.
