APC accuses Gov Emmanuel of hijacking Ekere blueprint

Akwa Ibom state chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon Ini Okopido, has accused Governor Udom Emmanuel, candidate of Peoples Democratic Party of hijacking the blueprint of Obong Nsima Ekere.

Addressing newsmen in Uyo at the party secretariat, Okopido expressed dismay over what he described as criminal adoption of part of the blueprints of the party’s governorship candidate, Obong Ekere by the PDP.

According to the party chairman,  “for a long time, the Akwa Ibom state chapter of All Progressives Congress has ignored a lot of the shenanigans of the Peoples Democratic Party in the state aimed at misleading innocent members of the public.

“It borders on criminality, assumption of the intellectual property of the APC and the dubious implementation of the manifesto of our candidate for the forthcoming gubernatorial elections, Obong Nsima Ekere, which we feel compelled to respond to as a party,” he said.

Hon Okopido accused Governor Emmanuel of being desperate to implement Obong Nsima Ekere’s New Vision for our Collective Prosperity document, presented to the public when he flagged off his governorship campaign last year.

He frowned at what he described as the brazen intellectual property theft of the APC gubernatorial candidate’s blueprint by the present administration.

“A few weeks ago, we unveiled our manifesto. It was well received by all and sundry, because it contains detailed prescriptions on how APC is going to heal our land and bring prosperity.

“The governorship candidate of All Progressives Congress, Obong Nsima Ekere, had in his speech at the presentation declared that he would ensure the immediate reactivation of the Akwa Palm Industries as one of his priorities within the first one hundred days in office as Governor to immediately throw up thousands of direct and indirect jobs for teeming Akwa Ibomites.”

He said it was shameful for Governor Udom to rush and inaugurate a taskforce for the reactivation of that palm project without even acknowledging the owner of the idea he now finds worthy of implementing.

Reacting, the PDP State Publicity Secretary, Comrade Ini Ememobong, while debunking the APC claims described the allegations as “beer palour talk”.

“Mr Ini Okopido was seen clearly enjoying a mud bath and spewing falsehood in its most crude form. He called the governor clueless and went on to make many unsubstantiated allegations against the governor”.
