APC appeal panel releases Convention guidelines

Barely eight days to the National Convention of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), the Screening Appeal Sub-committee has begun sitting, calling on all aggrieved aspirants to submit petitions in respect of the justconcluded screening exercise.
The Governor Bello Masariled screening committee which concluded its assignment on Tuesday had said that no fewer than 179 aspirants obtained nomination forms to contest various positions in the June 23 national convention of the party.
However, in the guidelines obtained yesterday in Abuja, the Screening Appeal committee headed by the Imo state Governor, Rochas Okorocha, had started receiving petitions with respect to the screening exercise.
According to the guidelines, aggrieved aspirants are expected to submit petition alongside evidence to back up their claims at the Imo state governor’s lodge in Abuja, venue of the exercise not later than noon on Saturday, June 16.
It was, however, not clear whether governor Bello Masariled screening committee had disqualified any aspirant as at the time of filing in this report.
