APC caucus meeting, Senator Nakudu, others absent

Key chieftains of the All Progressives Congress in Jigawa state were absent in a meeting convened to mend fences and block the cracks existing in the party.

The APC stalwarts absent at the stakeholders meeting convened by Governor Mohammed Badaru Abubakar to resolve the differences were the Senator representing Jigawa North-Central, Alhaji Sabo Mohammed Nakudu was absent at the APC caucus meeting and the reason for his absence was not explained.

Also absent were Honourable Farouk Adamu Aliyu, the State Assembly Speaker, Honourable Idris Garba, former Deputy Governor Alhaji Ahmed Mahmoud, Alhaji Yusuf Maitama Bello among others.

The meeting presided over by Governor Badaru himself took place Sunday night behind closed doors at the Government House Dutse, Jigawa state capital.

Before the meeting there were speculations that some key members of the ruling party might have been pencilled down for suspension from the party due to various allegations.

Before now, it was rumoured that Senator Nakudu has indicated interest in running for the governorship seat come 2023 and because of that, the relationship between the governor and the senator became sore.

When contacted, the State Acting APC Chairman, Alhaji Muhammed Umar explained that the state had some appointments lately at the federal government which they felt it was necessary to summon the meeting to enable them know themselves better.
