APC chair: Emokpaire withdraws for Oshiomhole

Some 10 days to the National Convention of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), one of the chairmanship aspirants, Chief Ibrahim Emokpaire, has withdrawn his ambition, instead directed his supporters to vote for former governor of Edo State, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole.
Emorkoaire said he took the decision after due consultations with members of his family, political associates, leaders of the party and admirers.
The Edo-born politician, who stated this yesterday, declared that he opted to withdraw his nomination to promote party unite and to join forces with Comrade Oshiomhole to move our party forward.
“I have invited you to this press conference today to unveil my resolution to put behind me my aspiration to contest for the position of the National Chairmanship of our great party, the APC.
He said he decided to withdraw following consultations with governors, members of the National Assembly and others, noting that he was aware of the disappointment his supporters would feel.
He declared that he was not forced to withdraw out of timidity or threat, “but rather to enhance party discipline and loyalty at all times.”
While appreciating his supporters in Nigeria and Diaspora, Emokpaire urged them to believe the more in the capacity of APC to turn things around in Nigeria.
