APC chairmanship: ‘I’ll enthrone internal democracy if… – Mustapha

An aspirant for the All Progressives Congress (APC) national championship position, Barr. Mohammed Mustapha, Sunday, promised to enthrone internal democracy and party supremacy if he wins in the forthcoming national convention .

Mustapha, who stated this in Jalingo while  declaring his intention to contest for the position, said he would not allow himself to be intimidated by other aspirants who are party bigwigs.

He stressed that he was going into the contest to win and to bring about the needed change.

He urged the crop of old brigade in the party to give chance to the younger ones, adding that they should step aside and play an advisory role to the youth.

Mustapha, a legal practitioner and currently board member of the Federal University Wukari in Taraba state appealed to the youth to support him to succeed.

He maintained that positive change cannot be effective through good governance but through party leadership.

“I am going into this contest to win because I have all it takes to lead the party.

“I will not be intimidated by any so called big name within the party because I have paid my dues.

“I am urging our older generation to give chance to the youth and assume the advisory position in which they can correct us where we are not right.

“We are not challenging them but it’s crucial for the youth with fresh ideas to take up the mantle of leadership,” he said.
