APC chieftain advocates death sentence for kidnappers

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from Benue state, Mr Garus Gololo has called on the National Assembly to enact death penalty law for kidnappers.

Gololo made this call in Abuja Sunday while speaking to newsmen. He said the latest kidnapping activities going on in the country should be properly looked into.

He stated that when one or two people have been sentenced to death, either by hanging or firing squad, everybody would learn their lessons and peace would return to Nigeria.

He sympathizes with former Nigeria star, Samson Siasia over his mother that is still with kidnappers, praying that God would torch their heart.

The APC chieftain condemned a statement from elder statesman from Bayelsa state, Chief Edwin Clark, that Fulani headmen are the ones killing people and stealing people’s properties.

He said he did not expect such utterances from an elder like him.

“The elder state man is the list I expect to made comments like that. He stated it as if he had personal hatred for Fulani. He also forgot that Fulani headsmen are facing a lot of killings in different parts of Nigeria.

“Clerk should sympatise with Nigeria on what is happening and proffer solutions, instead of coming out to castigate Fulani people,” Gololo said.
