APC chieftain’s widow accuses PDP chairman of killings

Few days to the governorship and House of Assembly elections, some All Progressive Congress (APC) members have allegedly been killed in cold blood.

As at last count, over 307 APC supporters have been killed in Rivers state as confirmed by the state governor, Rt Hon. Rotimi Amaechi in his recent briefing of newsmen in Port Harcourt.
Those who fall victims include former Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni local government council chairman, Chief Christopher Adube, his two sons and others.

At Obor, the gunmen stormed the residence of the former leader of LGA legislative assembly, Hon. Vincent Ogbuagwu, but missed their target as he was out of town.

The Blueprint gathered that the elder brother of Hon. Ogbuagwu, who is the Ochi Oha 1 of Obor Community, could not escape the bullets of the messengers of death as he was shot and killed at close range.

Ogbuagwu who is a stalwart of the APC in the LG area, had his house security guard burnt to death by the same gunmen.
In Omoku, the thugs brought down four persons including a 34 year old Keke NAPEP operator, Chineme  Okeke Benson, eyewitness was shot  inside his tricycle along Sambo Road in Omuku.

A reliable source informed the Blueprint that the killer squad moved to Egbada, another quite community in the area on the same Saturday, April 4th and killed Ochi Oha 1, Chief Okwu Osia, also a member of the APC in the area.
A top community source told Blueprint that the gunmen alleged to be political thugs of the People’s Democratic Party in the area, crashed into homes at about 7.30 pm and 10 pm on Friday at Obrikom near Omuku, Headquarters of the LG area.

The hoodlums numbering about eight masked and clad in military camouflage were chanting Anti-APC slogans, the source disclosed.
Checks by Blueprint revealed that the hoodlums operated uninterrupted between 7.30 through 10 pm in the area.
The Rivers state Police Command confirmed the killing of nine persons in the area. The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) DSP Ahmed Muhammad made the confirmation in Port Harcourt.

When contacted, the widow of the slain APC chieftain, Mrs. Adub, accused the PDP chairman in the state of involvement in her husband’s death.
She maintained that the gunmen said they were sent by the PDP chairman before they finally killed her husband.
Meanwhile, state government has assured that those involved in the brutal killing of APC in the state would be brought to book.
