APC coalition blames NWC vacant positions for Bayelsa lost, others

The National Coalition of All Supports Groups in the All Progressives Congress (APC) have blamed the vacant positions of the part’s National Working Committee (NWC) for the lost recorded in Bayelsa state and others.

The APC members, who faulted the current NWC members also described them as “yes sir” national officers.

Addressing a news conference at the party’s national secretariat Friday in Abuja, Maxi Peter Okorafor, in reaction to the Supreme Court judgement, the support group called on the party’s leadership to in a shortest possible time to fill all the vacant positions.

Okorafor said: “The vacant positions at the NWC are the primary cause of the problems.  The political administration is not a free for all. It has to do with competence and experience.  It has to do with a record of service in the political party affairs or administration.

“A situation where by the party will be functioning without critical or important offices,  to us is capable of causing the problem we are going through.

“We are advising the party to come together in a shortest possible time to fill all the vacant positions. For instance,  look at the position of National Secretary of the party. Few weeks ago, we all heard in the media when NWC announced the National Secretary for the party in the person of Waziri Bulama and one month today he is yet to receive in this secretariat of the party.

“I want to advise further so that such situation will not linger to other states or zones where there are vacant offices.  For instance,  in the South-east,  the National Auditor of the party was appointed as Director-General of a parastatal,  his position became vacant.

“I want to advise this party to avoid any situation that cause further or deepening the crisis in the zone. As you can see APC is not well grounded in the South-east,  So they must reposit somebody from the East with requisite experience that will help strengthen the party in the zone.

“We understand that the position of National Auditor has been macro-zoned  to Anambra.  I will also advise stakeholders from the East and the National level to make sure the widows are not opened to all ambitious people to come in.  The party should continue with Electoral Act process of 2018 where convention produce aspirants.  Let those aspirants that are duly screened by the party should be considered for filling of that positions.”
