APC congress: Bwari council celebrates peaceful exercise

Following the peaceful conduct of ward/local government congress by the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Bwari area council in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), members of the party have expressed happiness over the conduct of the exercise.
Speaking with our correspondent yesterday in Abuja, the outgoing interim chairman of the party in Bwari, Mr. Musa Diko, commended the APC for putting up machinery that allowed free and fair exercise in the 10 wards in particular and the local government in general.

He said: “We were so happy that the conduct of the congress was peaceful in a way that all members were so overwhelmed that they could conduct themselves in a good manner. With this experience, I think there is going to be a change in Nigerian politics.
“APC organised it in the way that it could be free of rigging, corruption and nothing like out of impunity in getting delegates.”
He called on other area councils to emulate the Bwari exercise, noting that the peaceful conduct of all organised exercises by the APC had made the party recorded over 11, 000 members during the recent exercise.

The elected members from the 10 wards were Bala Danjuma, chairman, Shere ward, Alhaji Bisala Adamu, Bubwa ward, Alhaji Adamu Danladi, Igu ward, Dantani Kpaloko, Bwari central, while Fatai A. Akolawale, Usma ward, Sunday Shekwogaza, Ushafa ward, Garba Saleh abubakar, Byazhin, Fazawayi Diko, Suleiman Zakeri and Yusuf Nasara, from Kuduru Kawu and Dutse ward respectively.

Also, Hon. Aliyu Tanko Shere was elected as local government area council party chairman, while Shuaibu Musa Rade is the secretary and Peter Egbuta the treasurer.
