APC congresses: Al-Makura charges APC stakeholders on transparency


Senator representing Nasarawa south senatorial district Umaru Tanko Al-Makura, Sunday, admonished All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders in the state to be transparent, fair and just in the forthcoming wards and local government congresses.
He stated this at a meeting with the APC critical stakeholders in Lafia, advising them to give everybody a level playing ground.


He also said they have adopted internal mechanism to ensure peaceful emergence of leaders in wards and local government congresses of the party in the state.
He said stakeholders had resolved to use consultation, transparency and fairness as major tools in conducting the congresses in line with the guidelines of the party to select leaders that would be acceptable by the people.  

“Without any sentiment, we are concerned about due process in attaining democratic heights that is why we have sensitised and enlightened the electorates within this constituency to embark on what is constitutionally provided to conform to democratic principles and democratic tendencies,” he said.
Al-Makura therefore, called on the aspirants to consider the strength and unity of the party above every other interest and be deposed to dialogue and consensus to achieve peace and success during the congresses.
