APC govs meet Buhari in Daura


All Progressives Congress governors Tuesday met President Muhammadu Buhari in his country home, Daura, where they also held a meeting with the president. But the subject matter was not known as at the time of going to the press.

They were led by the Governor Aminu Bello Masari of Katsina state, in what may be demonstration of solidarity with the president’s celebration of the Eid el Kabir.

Aside from the host governor, Aminu Masari, others in attendance at the meeting were the chairman of Governors Forum,  Dr. Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State, Governor Babajide Sanwoolu of Lagos State, Governor Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi State, Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State, Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State, Gboyega Oyetola of Osun State, and Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State.

Also present was Deputy Senate President, Ovie Omo-Agege. Governor Masari, and Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr Boss Mustapha welcomed the governors who arrived in batches at the Umaru Musa Yaradua International Airport, Katsina before they drove to Daura.

The governors, on arrival, paid Sallah homage to President Buhari and prayed for his good health and more years of active service to Nigeria.

President Buhari, in his response, expressed gratitude to the governors for the visit and later held a closed-door meeting with governors.
